Elevé was born from a personal need for better-fitting dancewear. After the birth of my second child, I returned to dancing, rehearsing hard, and ready for something new to wear. Being tall for a dancer (5’8”) with a long torso, finding a leotard that fit well was a challenge. After an unsuccessful trip to the local dance shop, I decided to make my own. Already making coverups and skirts, why not leotards? The result: a leotard that fit perfectly, stayed in place, and allowed me to wear colors and patterns not typically found in stores. Friends quickly wanted one of their own, and I began creating leotards, skirts, and eventually costumes for other dancers. My designs even led to opportunities working with Kansas City Ballet's director William Whitener and local choreographers in the KC metro area.

I’m incredibly grateful for my long dance career and the mentors who pushed me to be my best. Those experiences shaped not only my dancing but my vision for Elevé.
